This document was written by RH Wynyard in 1858. It is a justification of why he held 3 of the most important posts in the colony at the same time - it was written for his family and, as he said, as a 'vindication of my public conduct, proceedings and motives, against the unfounded statements which have been industriously circulated by political adversaries.
The letters that RHW provides as evidence will follow in the next post - there are a lot, mostly between Downing St, Governor Grey and RHW.
